7030 Corporate Child Sponsorship Plan offers a simple, effective grassroots strategy.
The average monthly cost to sponsor an orphaned child is $40.00. The 7030 Corporate Child Sponsorship Plan portions are:
- Company cost = $12.00 per month
- Employee cost = $13.50 per month
- Canadian Government Tax contribution = $14.50 per month
Example scenario:
This is a way for working people everywhere to sponsor a child for approximately $13 a month – and that’s exciting news! The 7030 Child Sponsorship Plan is a win-win scenario.1. YOU decide your company will respond to the world hunger crisis. An Announcement/Challenge is distributed to the employees (download).
2. An employee decides they are able to contribute approximately $13 per month towards child sponsorship, then they choose a recognized child sponsorship organization (or click on one of the 7030 Child Sponsorship Plan links).
3. Each employee involved sends the HR manager the name of their sponsorship organization and the ID number of the child being sponsored.*
4. When 70% of the employees at your company have responded, you send out a press release (download) announcing the success of the program. The media can commend your company's charity and challenge other corporations to respond.
In this scenario, Jane Smith, your sales manager, motivates all employees to support children from one village and within a month every child in that community is sheltered from extreme conditions, nourished regularly and given access to education. Not only do the children benefit. Jane notices that her staff seem more fulfilled and teamwork improves. Jane gains further advantage in the marketplace when she communicates her company's success to the distributors and clients.
*The company's 30% share is added to the employee's pay cheque. See example of "company reimburse letter" (download). The intent of the 7030 Child Sponsorship Committee is that with more petition to the government, the tax saving is immediately reflected on the employee¹s pay cheque. With the reimbursement from the company combined with the tax savings, the employee is reimbursed 66% of the sponsorship cost.
